Conversion and refurbishment of an old dairy into a residential building. The project includes an attic conversion and alterations to the other floors. The roof construction drawing excerpt illustrates part of the structural detailing for this new use.
A change of use requires a careful review of the existing structural system and the proposed alterations. Particularly in an attic conversion, new requirements need to be coordinated with existing components. The design connects the treatment of the existing fabric with the requirements of future residential use.
